Valeo and Anritsu are expanding their digital-twin approach to vehicle-connectivity testing, adding use cases such as the eCall emergency-call function. The companies announced the update on October 26 for the 5G Automotive Association meeting in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The system connects Valeo\u2019s virtual electronic-control-unit platform with Anritsu\u2019s cellular-network simulation technology. Engineers can recreate changing network conditions in a controlled environment instead of relying entirely on vehicles driven repeatedly through physical test routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The partners say the approach can simulate transitions between mobile-network operators as well as scenarios involving multiple vehicles and vehicle-to-network or vehicle-to-everything communication. Cloud-based and local configurations are intended to make those tests repeatable and easier to scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This matters as more vehicle functions depend on reliable connectivity, from software updates to emergency communications.
