Galaxy S26 vs Galaxy S26+ Zoom Camera Comparison — and Where the S26 Ultra Stands
At Mobile World Congress 2026, a Techwich reporter took a closer look at Samsung’s new Galaxy S26 lineup, with a particular focus on zoom performance. From a camera hardware perspective, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are essentially the same when it comes to zoom. Both models feature a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, alongside a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, which means users should not expect a meaningful difference in zoom quality between the two devices. Samsung also lists up to 30x digital zoom for both models.
That makes the choice between the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ much less about camera zoom and more about factors such as display size and battery. Samsung’s official pages position the S26 with a 6.3-inch display and the S26+ with a 6.7-inch display, while keeping the core rear camera setup aligned.
The real step up in Samsung’s lineup is the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Unlike the S26 and S26+, the Ultra adds a much more advanced zoom system: a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, in addition to its 200MP main camera and 50MP ultra-wide camera. Samsung also highlights 10x optical quality zoom and marketing support for much longer-range zoom use on the Ultra, putting it clearly in a different category for users who care seriously about distant subjects and mobile photography flexibility.
In short, based on what Techwich reviewed at MWC 2026, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ deliver effectively the same zoom experience, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the model that stands out for anyone looking for a more powerful zoom camera system.
