Turo is adding a way for US renters to find Tesla vehicles with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) enabled. Announced on October 26, the feature is scheduled to appear in search and vehicle listings from October 28.
The change uses a direct integration to check whether a listed vehicle has access to the software. Hosts link their Tesla accounts so that eligible listings can show verified FSD status, giving prospective renters clearer information about the features included with a particular car.
Despite its name, FSD (Supervised) is a driver-assistance system. The driver must remain attentive and responsible for operating the vehicle. Booking one of these Teslas is therefore an opportunity to experience supervised assistance, not to hire a driverless taxi or hand over responsibility for the trip.
For Tesla, the rental channel could give interested drivers more time with the software than a conventional short demonstration. For Turo, software verification adds another distinction between otherwise similar vehicle listings. The launch is limited to the announced US marketplace programme and does not establish availability in every country where Turo operates.
