Hyundai is expanding the information supplied with its certified used cars in South Korea, using connected-vehicle records and digital diagnostics to give buyers a fuller picture of a vehicle’s condition. The new service was announced on November 2.
For vehicles whose previous owners have consented, buyers can see a safe-driving score and records from Hyundai’s official service network. The score draws on Bluelink data, including rapid acceleration, sharp deceleration and late-night driving. Service information covers inspections and replacement of important consumables.
Used electric vehicles receive additional battery information. Alongside the existing state-of-health figure, Hyundai will provide cell-voltage differences, battery-temperature variation and accumulated charging and discharging records in a dedicated inspection report.
The programme illustrates how connected-car data can serve a purpose beyond navigation and remote controls: helping buyers evaluate a second-hand vehicle. Previous-owner consent is a stated condition for sharing the historical driving and service information. The announcement concerns Hyundai’s certified used-car offering in Korea, rather than a confirmed rollout across all of the company’s international markets.
